BRAG Flight Training is a rapidly growing flight school based at Mineral Wells Regional Airport (KMWL). BRAG began operations in December of 2020, using one Cessna 152. BRAG aircraft fleet has grown to three Cessna 172’s, one Cessna 152, one Cessna 310, and one Hughes 269A.
BRAG is a family and friend owned business with exponential room for growth. It is our belief that we are not just training pilots we are creating and growing the aviation community.
The Operations Manager will support the operational and administrative needs of flight training including the education and business operation activities to ensure that the BRAG’s strategic and business plans are successfully implemented and delivered upon within the School. The incumbent will also support the design, development, delivery and evaluation of innovative products and services to meet the needs of industry and students. In addition, responsibilities include oversight of BRAG’s aviation facilities and ensuring the aviation programs are developed and delivered in line with regulatory and quality requirements.
Reports to: Director of Operations
- Lead and manage a work environment of continuous review and improvement of business practices, operational processes, and exceptional service provision.
- Contribute to planning, achievement of key performance indicators, and the delivery of accurate and timely briefings and reports.
- Oversite and management of the BRAG schedule to include but not limited to student scheduling, scheduling with DPE’s, instructor scheduling, special events
- Exercise strong budget management through the development and management of the school’s budgets and forecasts in line with agreed plans, and monitor and control expenses.
- Ensure the facilities and resources, Documents, and files are maintained and managed in accordance with legislation, regulations, standards and operational protocols and ensure that the school maintains compliance.
- In collaboration with the Director of Operations, Chief Safety Pilot, and Flight Instructors, support the student lifecycle including but not limited to monitoring student progress, and use priority scheduling to help students finish on or ahead of the projected completion date.
- Ensure that all compliance processes in relation to academic and administrative systems are carried out in a professional and timely manner by all staff in your unit.
- Oversite and management of aircraft maintenance scheduling and tracking
- Assist the Director of Operations and Chief Safety pilot in developing and implementing initiatives, as well as service delivery and managing contingencies associated with training delivery.
- Contribute, foster, and support a culture that is collaborative, collegial and in line with the BRAG values.
- Ensure the implementation of sound governance protocols across the team, including adherence to BRAG’s policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
- Manage internal BRAG agreements including delivery of award programs with commercial clients in the Aviation Academy.
- Support the Director of Operations in the coordination, compilation and presentation of proposals for domestic and international projects including driving the connections for aviation into global markets.
- Other cognate duties as requested.
- Highly developed planning and organizational skills, with experience establishing business plans, priorities, monitoring performance, and meeting deadlines.
- Sound knowledge and experience of managing compliance and regulatory requirements of aviation contracts including external regulators.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional and technical documentation including policies, procedures, and protocols for various audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing budgets including controlling expenditure.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management and proven ability to interpret financial data to provide high quality advice.
- Experience in the management of aviation facilities to meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively to foster effective sharing of information.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills with demonstrated capacity to promote learning and teaching.
